Our products are manufactured from the first to the last step in Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia. The beautiful creations of Calumet Spiritpipes are made here with great attention to detail and the highest precision. In the following, we briefly present the most important steps:
First, the blank, also called a scantling, is cut from a plank.
In the second step, the pipe shape is created. The rectangular blank is turned into a round profile.
The tools must be sharpened again and again in between, only in this way can we create a beautiful surface.
After the individual parts have been completed, the necessary ducts and the chamber for the activated carbon filter are fitted.
Grinding is all about the highest precision. In a fixed sequence, the texture of the wood emphasised more and more.
The polishing is done with a 1200's grain, which creates a pleasantly soft feel.
In the last step, the finishing, the workpiece is sealed with a cold-pressed linseed oil. The capillaries are permanently saturated again and dirt can no longer penetrate.
